GUIDING YOU TO SELF HEALING
I offer a wide range of counseling and psychological services to guide you through life’s most challenging and trying times.
I provide a warm safe place to talk through difficult emotional and/or psychological issues that may be causing great distress.
I believe we are all wounded in one way or another. I call this the primal wound. For most it has its roots in early childhood experiences; for others it may occur later on in life in various ways at various points.
The healing of the inner child often feels like a vital part of the recovery process.
I offer a relational experience, that is warm and caring; curious, and empathetic.
I will support and guide you through painful places to recovery, and transformative self healing
The healing from within that comes about from this cathartic experience is about obtaining a life that's free from pain and suffering, and ultimately "worth living"

Dialectical-behaviour Therapy
Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) is a form of cognitive-behavioural therapy that was developed for the treatment of individuals with chronic suicidal thoughts and urges and individuals suffering from borderline personality disorder (BPD).
DBT has many principles that organise the treatment but predominantly tries to balance opposite strategies of acceptance and change. For instance, in DBT therapists accept clients as they are whilst also acknowledging that they need to change in order to reach their goals.
DBT teaches clients skills to manage their emotions as it makes an assumption that individuals suffering from emotional dysregulation lack self management strategies. The four sets of behavioural skills that are taught in DBT are mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotional regulation.
DBT has a significant evidence base and has been shown to be effective in reducing suicidal behaviour, self harm, substance misuse, anger and depression. It is now recognised to be the gold standard psychological treatment for individuals with borderline personality disorder.
